Inpatient Mental Health (IPMH)
About our Facility
The Inpatient Mental Health Unit is a 28-bed facility at Grove Street that is designed to meet the specific needs of individuals experiencing psychological challenges. Our unit provides psychiatric services for adolescents ages 14 years and older, adults and seniors. The unit provides a structured, safe, homelike environment for individuals requiring short-term hospitalization.
Our trained mental health professionals assist you during your stay. Services are provided regardless of race, sex, or financial status. Conference rooms are available for family members and referral agencies. The Inpatient Mental Health Unit is accredited by the State of Pennsylvania. It is nationally accredited by Department of Health and the DNV.
Admissions Procedure
Initially, you will be required to wear hospital attire. For safety purposes, all jewelry (except for wedding bands), and other valuables will be secured in the unit safe or sent home with family members. Your personal belongings will be inspected and all secured items will be returned to you upon discharge from the unit. On the unit, our dedicated staff will make every attempt to protect your privacy and your right to confidentiality.
Whole Person Approach
Behavioral health services at our Mind-Body Wellness Center fall under the guidelines of a provider-based clinic. Those at our Alden and Grove Street facilities do not.
Please see below for an explanation of provider-based clinics and charges.
Meadville Medical Center Provider-based Clinic
How We Bill for Our Services
Visits to a provider-based clinic result in two charges to the patient: one charge for hospital services (the facility fee), and one charge for physician/professional services
More information about Meadville Medical Center’s provider-based clinics, including a complete listing and contact information for billing and financial assistance, can be found on our FAQ page.
