Audiology is a field of study regarding the science of hearing, balance, and related disorders. Audiologists, as defined by The American Academy of Audiology, are the healthcare professionals who diagnose, treat, and manage audiological disorders in individuals of all ages, from infants to the elderly. Care is provided by a licensed audiologist, which could be a CAOHC technician or a doctor of audiology (AuD).

At Meadville Medical Center, we offer a wide range of specialized services designed to improve hearing and auditory communications. The following services are available at the Audiology Center at MMC, including, but not limited to the following:

- Vestibular function evaluations for dizziness / balance problems which include:
- videonystagmography (VNG)
- vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMPs)
- electrocochleography (ECochG)
- rotary chair tests
- Auditory evoked potentials (AEPs)
- Otoacoustic emissions
- Hearing aid dispensing and verification
- Evaluation of the functional improvement with amplification
- Hearing aid analysis and repair service
- Hearing aid accessories including batteries
- Ear protection for swimming and noise
- Baseline and annual hearing tests for hearing conservation programs
- Baseline audiological evaluations to monitor potentially ototoxic medication
