Additional Info: Rho (D) Immune Globulin injection is given if mother is a candidate for Rhogam. If injection of Rhogam is not indicated, it will be reported. If indicated, further testing will result in additional charges. Rhogam is recommended to be given at 28 weeks gestation or after any obstetrical intervention or maternal abdominal trauma (vaginal bleeding, accident or amniocentesis).
NOTE:
RHOAP (order set) includes Rhogam product, ABO, Rh and antibody screen.
Useful For: Antepartum prophylaxis is useful for prevention of Hemolytic Disease of the Newborn by Rh negative mothers.

Specimen Requirements: SAMPLE MUST ARRIVE WITHIN 4 HOURS OF DRAW.
1 pink-top (EDTA) tube (minimum: 3.0 mL of EDTA whole blood). Forward promptly at room temperature only.
NOTE:
SST tube is not acceptable.
Do not centrifuge.
