Human Granulocyte Ehrilchiosis (HGE), Serum

Useful For:
Anaplasma phagocytophilum is the tick-borne agent causing Human Granulocytic Ehrlichiosis (HGE). The resulting acute febrile illness often resembles Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

Methodology: Indirect Immunofluorescence Assay (IFA)

Specimen Requirements:
1 yellow-top SST tube (minimum: 0.5 mL of serum). Centrifuge SST 30 minutes after draw. Refrigerate specimen after collection.

Analytical Time: 3 days

Days Set Up: Tuesday, Thursday
