Methodology: Standard AABB Testing

Specimen Requirements:
1 Pink-top (EDTA whole blood) tube. Refrigerate specimen after collection.

NOTE:
Specimen label must contain:

• Patient’s full name
• Patient’s SS#
• Date and time drawn
• Phlebotomist’s initials

Form must contain:

• Patient’s full name
• Patient’s SS#
• Test name
• Ordering physician’s name
• Date test ordered

NOTE:
If the patient has been pregnant or transfused within the last 3 months, the sample must be drawn within 3 days of anticipated need.

Analytical Time: 2 days

Days Set Up: Monday through Sunday
