Specimen Requirements:

ACCEPTABLE SPECIMENS
First catch urine

URINE SPECIMENS:
15-30 mL from a first voided (first part of the stream) urine collection in a urine container. Patient must NOT have urinated for one hour prior to collection. Transfer specimen into Aptima® specimen transport tube supplied by Meadville Medical Center Laboratory. Store specimen at room temperature after collection.

NOTE: If urine is not preserved, refrigerate specimen after collection. Unpreserved urine must be transported to Meadville Medical Center Laboratory within 24 hours of collection.
