Angiotensin Converting Enzyme

Useful For: This test is useful in evaluating patients presenting with sarcoidosis, Gaucher’s disease and lymphoangiomyomatosis in that the enzyme is increased in these clinical settings.

Methodology: Spectrophotometry

Specimen Requirements:
1 yellow-top SST tube (minimum: 0.5 mL of serum). Centrifuge SST 30 minutes after draw. Refrigerate specimen after collection.

NOTE:
EDTA plasma is NOT acceptable.

Analytical Time:
2 days
