Noah Medical Galaxy Robotic TechnologyMeadville Medical Center (MMC) announced today residents of Crawford County and surrounding areas will now have access to a cutting-edge new robotic platform as part of MMC’s fight against lung cancer. The health system today announced the use of the groundbreaking Galaxy System for the earlier diagnosis of lung cancer.

Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in the United States and the leading cause of cancer deaths in the country. But today, it can be difficult for physicians to properly find and biopsy lung nodules, delaying diagnosis and complicating treatment.

“We now have ability to locate and define what the type of pulmonary nodule that a patient has by using the Galaxy System. This allows patients to have minimally invasive procedures locally using very sophisticated technology” stated Andra Fee, DO, MPH.

The Galaxy System from Noah Medical is a new, state-of-the-art robotic platform that enables physicians to navigate to and locate lung nodules with greater precision and accuracy than current robotic platforms. Its “Tool-in-Lesion” TiLT+ Technology has been shown to achieve 100% successful navigation to lesion, 100% diagnostic yield and 95% tool-in-lesion accuracy in the recent MATCH study publication.

“This groundbreaking technology brings new hope to our community by enhancing our ability to diagnose and treat lung cancer with greater precision. The Galaxy System provides unparalleled visualization throughout the procedure, offering a clear and direct path to more accurate diagnoses and improved patient outcomes,” said Tejpreet Lamba, MD.

With Galaxy Dr. Lamba and Dr. Fee can now diagnose and treat lung nodules sooner with Galaxy’s single-use bronchoscope, the first of its kind in robotic bronchoscopy.
