Audiology at Meadville Medical Center
An audiologist is the hearing healthcare professional who assesses the extent of hearing loss, while also treating various balance and related disorders and recommending the appropriate treatment for remedy of such issues. Treatment options may include aural rehabilitation, hearing aids, and other amplification devices. Audiology care is provided by a CAOHC-certified technician and doctor of audiology.
Audiology Services We Offer
At Meadville Medical Center, we offer a wide range of specialized services designed to improve hearing and auditory communications. The following services are available at our Audiology Center at MMC, including, but not necessarily limited to the following:
- Comprehensive audiology evaluations
- Middle ear function tests
- Electronystagmography (ENG); vestibular function evaluation for dizziness / balance problems
- Brain Stem Evoked Responses including evaluation of the hearing in newborn / infants and other difficult-to-test patients
- Hearing aid dispensing
- Evaluation of the functional improvement with amplification
- Hearing aid analysis and repair service
- Hearing aid accessories including batteries
- Ear protection for swimming and noise
- Industrial testing and consultation
- Public free hearing screening
- Baseline audio logical evaluations to monitor potentially ototoxic medication
